Problem :

A salting company using brine for pork meat preservation, experienced significant etching problems.

Saturated with salt so particularly corrosive, this medium begins to etch iron parts, particularly when these have not been originally protected with specific coating.

Solution :

In order to meet brine convey requirements, DN350 valve has been enhanced to be able to resist this high medium corrosivity.

STEMAT-JANSEN engineers entirely dismounted a gate valve. All components but wedge and inside-body seats previously protected, have been sand blasted. Then they applied 7 layers of a special paint resisting to high salt density, for a final 700 microns thickness.
